We're setting our app up to work with an unmanaged webview tab, meaning that the user is simply viewing our web app in webview within the app, while obviously enjoying the perks of having all this wrapped in an app: app installed to homescreen, pushes etc.
What problem are you facing? |
Our next challenge will be to allow users to stay subscribed to push notifications, and having those push notifications open up the app and take the user to the correct article in the unmanaged webview tab. |
What improvement or new feature are you hoping for? |
For this, we'd need support for deep linking to a specific article within the webview tab via push. |

This feature would allow us to reach our desired endgame phase with the app, where the app is more of a wrapper app for viewing our webapp in webview, with the benefit of being able to subscribe to push notifications and have those pushes take the reader to the corresponding article. We see the value of this as potentially gamechanging for our product, since by reaching a good critical mass of app installations we would have the ability and capacity to quickly promote breaking articles and bring in hundreds, even thousands of readers almost instantly by pushing, while maintaining full control over the visuals and the technical solution of the product via webview. |
